The Institute for Ethical AI

The Institute is a new platform that I created so that I can give back to the AI community that I've been deeply involved with for many decades. The Institute aims to serve as an educational hub and to promote Responsible AI. Drawing from my extensive experience in the field, I aim to foster meaningful discussions on legal issues, fairness, transparency, governance, and the broader societal impacts of AI. I hope The Institute will grow into a vibrant hub for collaboration, and I warmly welcome your feedback along with active participation from individuals and the wider AI community.

I'm Isidore (“Izzy”) Sobkowski, the founder of The Institute for Responsible AI (RAI).

I'm a recognized global leader with more than 45 years of hands-on experience in advanced AI solutions.

My expertise in the field of AI includes:

- Holding a U.S. patent for Ethical AI, and a US Patent for Responsible AI

- Serving as founder and CEO of AskRAI, The Responsible AI Company (www.askrai.ai)

- Acting as an experienced expert witness in complex and high-stakes AI, enterprise, and legacy technology litigation

- Delivering keynote speeches on AI topics worldwide

- Advising on AI and advanced technology for the Advisory Board of the Connecticut Education Network (CEN)

My career spans research and development, sales, marketing, intellectual property, and technology delivery, with notable roles such as Chief Digital Officer of Stamford, CT; Artificial Intelligence Specialist at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office; CIO of NYC Health and Human Services; Global Technology Strategist at Microsoft; Artificial Intelligence Lead for Surveillance and Compliance at the New York Stock Exchange; and AI Division Vice President at Computer Associates.

I've received the Microsoft Award for Best Product of the Year; and I founded a company called Professional Help Desk that achieved a top position in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant, thanks to innovative Experience-Based Reasoning (EBR) technology I developed hen I was a graduate student.
