Isidore ("Izzy") Sobkowski

Isidore Sobkowski is a pioneering leader in ethical and responsible artificial intelligence, with over four decades of impactful contributions. He holds U.S. patents in Ethical Artificial Intelligence and Ethical AI for Governance, and founded Professional Help Desk (PHD), where he developed Experience-Based Reasoning (EBR), a natural language AI solution that won Microsoft’s “Product of the Year” and positioned PHD as a Gartner visionary, serving clients including the White House, NASA, IBM, and Disney.

His career features transformative roles as Chief Information Officer for the City of Stamford and Commissioner-level CIO for New York City’s Health and Human Services, delivering AI innovations and executed comprehensive legacy IT modernization initiatives. At Microsoft, as Global Technology Strategist, he drove worldwide digital transformations for major corporations, such as Raytheon, United Technologies, Carrier and Otis via advanced AI and cloud strategies. He also served as an AI Intellectual Property Specialist at the U.S. Patent Office.

A recognized thought leader, Sobkowski has authored influential publications, received the AAAI Award for Innovation in Artificial Intelligence, and advised global technology boards.

FLYING IS MY PASSION

I hold a pilot license for single-engine land aircraft, with an instrument rating. 

My endorsements include complex and high-performance aircraft.

I first soloed in a Cessna 150 from a tiny airstrip in upstate New York when I was 16, and now with decades of flying experience and approximately 1,200 hours logged, I have additional experience in turbine, seaplane, multi-engine, and gyrocopter aircraft, as-well-as glider and hang-glider.

I have flown across five continents: North America, Europe, South America, Asia, and Africa.
